America's First Au Pair Program To Host Cultural Fair in Nation's Capital
Au Pair in America Plans Day of International Fun at Nationals Park

April 22, 2016 – Au Pair in America (APIA) invites local families and members of the press to attend a cultural fair on Sunday, May 1 from 1–4 p.m. at Nationals Park. The event will feature educational country displays and performances, photo ops, face painting and other activities for children and adults to learn about different cultures and find out how au pair programs benefit Americans.

Au Pair in America is the oldest au pair agency in the United States. This cultural fair is part of a milestone year of special activities planned to celebrate 30 years participating with the U.S. Department of State J-1 Visa Au Pair Program. Au Pair in America staff, host families and au pairs from at least 30 countries will be in attendance at the cultural fair May 1.

"It was our privilege to be the first legal au pair program in the U.S. Three decades later, it remains a privilege to provide families with affordable options for cultural exchange and flexible live-in child care," states Au Pair in America Sr. Vice President and Director Ruth Ferry. She continues, "Our cultural fairs are always a fun way for local families to celebrate diversity and foreign exchange, but celebrating in our thirtieth year from our nation's capital makes this one extra special."

Au Pair in America is hosting the cultural fair in the Norfolk Southern Club at Nationals Park. Anyone interested in attending should visit www.aupairinamerica.com/culturalfair/ and follow the prompt to RSVP. Admission is available at no charge.

Nationals Park is located at 1500 S. Capital St., SE, Washington, D.C. Free parking is available in Lot B for attendees arriving by car. Guests arriving by Metro should take the Green Line to Navy Yard/Ballpark. Norfolk Southern Club is reached by the ramp/escalator through the Centerfield gate.

The nation's first and largest au pair program, Au Pair in America combines live-in child care and cultural exchange for a mutually rewarding and enriching experience for the entire family. Since 1986, Au Pair in America has placed more than 100,000 au pairs in 43 states.
