Feedback from an Au Pair
“I really love the Au Pair in America webinars because of several reasons. There is a huge variety of topics so that truly everyone can attend a webinar of their interest. In addition there are both topics that focus on the host family, host kids of all ages as well as host parents, and topics that focus just on you as an Au Pair, from homesickness over personal safety to preparing for coming home. What I really like is that you can see how much work and personal interest and love the trainers put in their presentations. A lot of times they even include their own experiences as Au Pair or Community Counselor. They have an answer to every question and although Au Pairs are muted during the presentations there is always interaction at the end of every webinar!!”

It has been a wonderful opportunity to work for Au Pair in America since 1994 as a Community Counselor and since 1997 as an Orientation Trainer. Both jobs are fun and exciting. I am able to work with Au Pairs and Host Families to ensure they have a great year with the program. It has been a wonderful experience to get to meet so many Au Pairs from so many different countries and to learn from each other. The Webinars are an extension of this learning as we have designed them to bring Au Pairs additional information while living in the USA. I hope these webinars will help you and provide you knowledge to have your best year ever in America.
I have been a part of Au Pair in America as a Counselor since 2013. I have also been a part of our orientation team since 2014. I truly believe I have the best job in the world! Being a part of your journey with us brings me back to the beginning of my time with APIA because it really started long before I became a counselor… truth is that back in 2002, just like you, I left everything/everyone I knew and came on this crazy adventure. I am originally from France and came as an au pair with APIA back in 2002. I look forward to sharing my experience with you, hearing how you’re doing, and helping you make the most of your time with us.
