Five Topics To Choose From – Take One or Take All!
Au Pair in America is offering five host family day webinars throughout the month of October. Those families with an au pair already in the home are obligated to attend at least one webinar and/or an event offered by the local community counselor. It is a Department of State requirement for host families to attend a cross-cultural educational event at least once a year. Due to Covid, we will once again offer these online options for our families.
Department of State Requires all program sponsors to:
Advise all selected host families of their obligation to attend at least one family day conference to be sponsored by the au pair organization during the course of the placement year. Host family attendance at such a gathering is a condition of program participation and failure to attend will be grounds for possible termination of their continued or future program participation;

Holidays in Your Global Home
As a host family hosting an au pair, you are seizing the opportunity to learn about another culture. Certain holidays in every culture receive more attention than others, but all celebrations are windows into the cultural heritage of your au pair. Children learn that the world is a global community of differences and commonalities. You gain perspective on your au pair’s values. Our au pairs report more satisfying matches when they feel seen and culturally understood. Please join Field Representatives Melinda Brooks and Cindy Garruba to explore how to make the most of your family’s cultural journey with your au pair.
