OUR ORIENTATION TRAINING PROGRAM
Feel prepared and adjust to life in America before you meet your host family
The Au Pair in America Orientation is carefully designed to help you prepare for the year ahead with your host family, offer practical advice on childcare, and help you adapt to the American culture. This orientation is mandatory and strictly regulated by the US Department of State. Our dedicated Orientation Trainers have helped thousands of au pairs get the very best start to their Au Pair in America experience.
Here’s how it works…
Part 1
Once you match with a host family, Part 1 of your Pre-Departure Training will become available in your To Do list which you can access via your online profile. You can expect a variety of resources such as voiceover presentations, videos, reading materials and quizzes. As you can start this as soon as you are Placed, you should have plenty of time to enjoy these training sessions and you can now begin preparing for your Au Pair in America adventure!
Before your departure to the USA, you will complete Part 2 of your training by attending live webinars and interacting with our trainers online…
Part 2
As it will now be getting close to your departure date, you will also be invited to Q&A sessions with our trainers where you can ask any questions that you may still have. It is mandatory to attend at least one webinar however most au pairs choose to attend more, and the good news is you can join as many of these as you like. During this time, you will also complete your Red Cross training and receive your certificate.
By this point, our training will have you feeling ready and excited to fully embrace your au pair role! The Orientation doesn’t stop here though…
Shortly after your arrival in the US, our Orientation team will offer a warm welcome webinar so you can connect with them again and discuss any questions or concerns you may have, to help you settle in.
You will also take part in an ‘In-home host family training’ for a minimum of 3 days. After that, we have lots more optional training sessions for you to attend plus access to exclusive Facebook groups and regular webinars to keep you in contact with your Orientation trainers and other au pairs throughout your time in America.
