Meet Angela from Mexico

Au Pair Available Now

26 years old

8,100 hours of child care experience

NonInfant Qualified

Au Pair ID: S7088

Program: Extraordinaire

Angela says: "I decided to study pedagogy, because I love education. I love working with children because they know how to get the best of me and I try to teach them to do their best. It is a very rewarding job. I have three years of experience caring for children with disabilities. I used to make individual programs to improve their different problems of scholastic achievement, also we played and ate together. They told me what they had done on the day. Then I took care of a 7 year old boy who had Down syndrome, which I loved to see how the child had better grades in high school. He was a very responsible kid so I used to help him in his task and when he finished his therapy, I was very happy because he had made more progress than expected."

Meet Odette from Spain

Au Pair Available Now

24 years old

1,056 hours of child care experience

NonInfant Qualified

Au Pair ID: R1050

Program: Extraordinaire

Odette says: "I finally decided to study Childhood Education when I wasn't living with my mom and little sister anymore. In my second year, since we have 3 months to do our training in a work center (that means kindergartens) i had the chance to go to Berlin, Germany in a bilingal kindergarten named Kita Girasoles- Sonnenblumen, with my classmates/friends. We had different classes and kids ages, mine were between 2-3 years old, they were the cutest babies I've even seen after my sister. Apart them i had other babies in another class, they were older than mines (4 years). I liked to be with them in the park, always had something to tell me or show me about what they did at home, on weekends, etc. The park was the best place because i watched kids from different ages, their behaviours, how differently they played, etc.; most of them came to me or to my friend (it was the only moment i could see her when we separated in the morning). I learnt too much, because i had to be with other kids that weren't mine, be patient to those ones who didn't want to approach me. That satisfaction when you finally get what you want, there were kids from different countries, different skin colors; It was with no doubt the most enjoyable experience i ever had. "

I love dealing with children...the more important reasons are to get to know a new culture, live in a foreign country for a year, meet new people and maybe become part of a second family for a while. One year of giving and gaining, of working and living with children, getting to know the American lifestyle, the habits and landscape, the people and the language will be a great experience. Susan says "At the moment I am studying, to take my exams to become a social worker. I will finish June 2017. As wall as studying I am working for a health care organization, mainly with disabled people (children till elderly). One of my hobbies is looking after our horse Face. When I was 5 years old I started horseback riding, and when I turned 12 my mother bought our first horse. My other hobbies are, cooking, baking, going out with friends, shopping, playing with children and watching movies and television series. I began babysitting for other children, then my brothers, when I was 14 years old. It was a family with a baby girl of 3 months old, (she is now 4 years). I supported her with learning to walk, speak and also potty-training. The middle boy was 5 when I started, now he is 9. I helped him learn how to read, to count and played games with him."
