Au Pair in America in Connecticut
Regional Update
Regional Presence:
Au Pair In America has more than 30 clusters in Connecticut and New York. The majority of the families live in Westchester and Fairfield Counties but population centers are served across both states.
Quarterly Message:
January 2010
Au Pairs in CT and NY look forward to outdoor activities as well as holiday festivities. Many clusters have international parties during which au pairs share their holiday food and traditions. Learning about their global neighbors is always exciting.
Once the new year begins, au pairs are making plans to return to their child's classroom to give a Global Awareness presentation. This unique program gives young children the opportunity to learn about other people and cultures and to personally ask their questions during each interactive presentation.
For many au pairs, this winter season will be the first time they've experienced snow. What fun for young ladies from the warmer climates as they build snowmen and take sleigh rides with their clusters and host families. Purchasing their first heavy jacket, boots, scarves and gloves is always an experience.
Several NY clusters will go ice skating at the Bryant Park rink or Rockefeller Plaza under the towering Christmas tree. The au pairs enthusiastically visit NYC during the holiday season!
A trip to a Broadway production is a destination for many clusters followed by some shopping on famous Canal Street and dim sum in Chinatown.
The au pairs certainly love the diverse destinations this region offers.
