America Explored by Darien Au Pair from Austria
Elisabeth Spreitzhofer, an au pair from Austria living with a host family in Darien, was recently spotlighted in an article by The Darien Patch. The article talks about her experiences with American culture as an au pair and can be read here.
This is Elisabeth Spreitzhofer's second go-round as an au pair in America - she spent a year in New Orleans and is eight months into her year in Darien. The native of Austria says she enjoys meeting people from different cultures.

Safety Tips: Summer Edition
As the weather warms, it is likely that you will be spending more time outside. Outdoor play is necessary for children, to move their muscles and enjoy the fresh air. It is important to use sunscreen to protect from the sun's rays, and also important to be aware of possible disease-bearing insects.

Activities for Parents and Children
The Calendar of the Season is an interactive feature on the Au Pair in America website that gives children, parents, and au pairs a fun and informative look at each month of the year through cultural activities and historical facts.
June is National Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month
Children should eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. Many children prefer the crunch of raw food - especially popular are apples, pears, carrots, and broccoli. You can also grow your own vegetables with the children.
