| The $350 nonrefundable application fee is for new families only. Repeat host families pay a $150 deposit which is applied to the program fee. In an effort to recognize the commitment of families who choose Au Pair in America year after year, Au Pair in America is pleased to offer a $350 discount on the program fee to families on our standard and Extraordinaire program and a $285 discount on our EduCare program to families entering their sixth or more full contract year.
Fees are based on a program of 12-month duration and are due to Au Pair in America no later than 30 days prior to arrival of the au pair in the United States. Host families may elect to make payment arrangements through Au Pair in America’s Extended
Payment Plan.
All fees are payable by personal check or by charging your Visa, MasterCard or American Express account. Checks to be made payable to Au Pair in America.
Program Fees Include:
Recruitment, interviewing and selection of the au pair and host
family; administrative and support services during the exchange;
round trip transportation between designated cities abroad* and
the orientation site; au pair orientation; partial, J-1 visa processing;
a portion of the basic medical insurance; personal liability coverage;
and a cultural event for the au pair. Program fees also include
a rematching service should a replacement au pair be required to
fulfill a host family’s contract year.
*To maintain a uniform program fee for host families, au pairs
and EduCare companions traveling to and from select cities pay a
flight surcharge towards their airline cost.
Additional Cost Considerations Include:
The au pair’s transportation from the orientation site to
the host community; private room and board; weekly stipend paid
to the au pair/companion; automobile insurance; transportation
to cluster meetings and classes; educational allowance towards
tuition and course materials.
Extended Payment Plan
This optional plan will reduce the initial program fee payment and
enable families to pay the program fee in four affordable installments.
